036/365 – Canoe
Sunday, February 7th, 2010Toronto has an event similar to Vancouver’s Dine Out, called Winterlicious. On Friday, I went to one of the apparently hardest-to-book restaurants for the prix fixe menu. The restaurant, Canoe, is situated on the 54th floor of the TD tower in downtown Toronto. For $45, the food was good, but not the best I’ve had. I ordered the wine pairings with each dish as well and it was interesting. This offered me a pinot grigio with my cheese souffle appetizer, a merlot with my pasta entree, and a port with my panna cotta dessert. My favourite of the three was the entree (pictured above): Ricotta Ravioli with Winter Root Ratatouille and Mushroom Cinnamon Foam. It was an interesting mix of flavours.
The next night, I ended up going to another Winterlicious restaurant: Fuzion. It’s situated on Church St. and I’ve been there once before. The food was very good, and in comparison, the price was only $35. Of the few restaurants I’ve tried in Toronto, Fuzion has been my favourite. Highly Recommended!
