118/365 – Famous

Friday, May 28th, 2010

Finally go to try Justin’s famous lasagna. It was great! But this primitive can opener is questionable…

117/365 – Affogato

Friday, May 28th, 2010

Affogato – vanilla bean gelato topped with a shot of espresso served with an almond biscotti. AKA perfection. This after-dinner indulgence always reminds me of summer nights in Italy with my parents.

116/365 – Lucky

Tuesday, May 11th, 2010

Now that I’m back in Waterloo, I’m lucky to have a variety of “International” cuisine on account of my roomates’ different cooking styles. This is a Malaysian dish Koda cooked. I forgot the name of it but it has vegetables, medicinal herbs and ribs in it. Yummy!

112/365 – Last Supper

Monday, May 10th, 2010

My last meal in downtown Toronto (while still living there) was with Rachel, at Hey Lucy on Bloor. Pizza pizza pizza! Awesome!

109/365 – Take Two

Monday, May 10th, 2010

Before my departure from downtown Toronto, I had to pay ‘Swish by Han’ a second visit. Again it did not disappoint. Got to try some dishes we didn’t order last time, like the beef tartare pictured above. Not only was the presentation truly breathtaking, the flavour was spot-on.

107/365 – Eggspectations

Saturday, May 8th, 2010

I’m sorry for the hiatus. I swear I will catch up some day. I’ve got all the photos lined up. Life has just been hectic lately: moving back into Waterloo, finishing up my last work term report, unpacking, settling into new classes, signing up for stuff etc etc…

This photo is a bagel I had at Eggspectations on Yonge St.

105/365 – Pyramid

Bruschetta with Feta @ Pickle Barrel Atrium. Awesome!

103/365 – Kenzo

102/365 – Ya Man

Tuesday, April 20th, 2010

Finally got to try Ackee Tree on Spadina with Koda when he visited from Waterloo this weekend. Those who know me know that I love Caribbean cuisine. Of course I had to try their jerk chicken. It was perfectly cooked and definitely was up to par with The Reef in Vancouver. I don’t eat chicken skin often, but one exception I make is jerk chicken.

101/365 – Konnichiwa

Saturday, April 17th, 2010

Got the chance to try this Japanese restaurant on Baldwin St. called Konnichiwa, recommended by Yen’s brother. I really loved the simple and clean flavours. My favourite was the grilled Arabesque Greenling pictured above.
