A week of half-price Frappacinos saw me going to Starbucks three times that week in May.

Lunchbox Madness. Decided to try a new recipe. My rendition of pork medallions with a coffee molasses glaze. It was a pleasing, comforting taste. The glaze reduced well on the stove. Carrots and turnips from the weekly produce box.

After hearing many rave reviews about this coffee shop from multiple parties, I finally had the chance to try it. Dark Horse is an espresso bar situated on Spadina Ave. Good espresso, good eats. Come to think of it, it’s my first time seeing latte art since I left BC. I especially enjoyed the decor. The lofty feel really reflects what I aspire to live in one day. I’m definitely going to return one lazy Sunday afternoon with a good book.

So for all of you who are from or are currently in Vancouver, you’ve probably been to one of the many Cafe Crepes around town. I must admit, they are definitely not the best crepes available but there’s just something about Cafe Crepe that makes you want to go there.  After a day of walking around downtown, I ordered a dark chocolate hazelnut crepe with a scoop of coffee ice cream. It really hit the spot, but it seemed a bit skimpy on the chocolate filling. Oh well…
