052/365 – Cafe Crepe

So for all of you who are from or are currently in Vancouver, you’ve probably been to one of the many Cafe Crepes around town. I must admit, they are definitely not the best crepes available but there’s just something about Cafe Crepe that makes you want to go there.  After a day of walking around downtown, I ordered a dark chocolate hazelnut crepe with a scoop of coffee ice cream. It really hit the spot, but it seemed a bit skimpy on the chocolate filling. Oh well…

037/365 – Chocolat

Last night, I went with a friend to try a coffee shop in the Annex. ‘Aroma’ is apparently an import from Israel, and the first thing I noticed when I walked in was the inviting atmosphere. My friend and I both got a hot chocolate, which was smooth and had the right amount of sweetness in my opinion. It came with a little piece of chocolate as well.

Ever since I bought my Kitchenaid stand mixer on Boxing Day, I’ve only used it for menial cooking tasks. So the other day, I decided to bake some good ol’ chocolate chip cookies. They turned out a little on the sweet side, even though I reduced the sugar. If you are reading this and you want a cookie (and you’ll see me in the next week or two), feel free to ask me to bring you one.
