140/365 – Sangria it up
Wednesday, August 18th, 2010094/365 – …and the Third Little Brewer
Thursday, April 15th, 2010Went to eat at The 3 Brewers at Dundas Square with Rachel and Farran last weekend. This restaurant is an import from France and was a full micro-brewery concept. We each got the ale sampler, pictured above, which included a dark, a wheat, a blonde and a red ale. Honestly, I really only enjoyed the dark one, but that’s probably because I’m not the most avid beer drinker. The food was awesome. Always love good pub grub.

Thursday, April 15th, 2010092/365 – Mass Exodus
Tuesday, April 13th, 2010Cristina is graduating! Her mom flew all the way from Vancouver! The fashion show featuring the work of her (and Michelle’s) graduating class, Mass Exodus 2010: in bloom. It was pretty eye-opening to see! Excerpts from the show Unfortunately, I neither had the right gear nor was close enough to actually shoot anything decent at the show.
After the show, we went to Pickle Barrel to celebrate (but mostly because we were all starving).
034/365 – My Friend Mr. Gin
Friday, February 5th, 2010Over the past years, my relationship with alcohol has evolved quite a bit. Now obviously I’m not at that “glass of red wine a night” stage, but I’ve come a long ways from those high school days of Smirnoff Ice and Bacardi Breezers (when girls got “drunk” from one sip of beer and kissed each other). Last term, I took a 4-week bartending course with Ivan and we both came out of it with a deeper and fuller understanding of alcohol. It’s definitely opened me up to new drinks (and new ways to drink), and along the way, I’ve learned to notice the subtleties between brands. I’m sure over the past year or so, my friends have noticed my default drink is a simple G&T, but only recently have I gotten into the habit of asking for a brand of gin. To me, a G&T made with Tanqueray Ten is about as close to bliss as I can get on a weeknight. The botanicals present really balance out for me. Highly recommended for anyone who hasn’t tried it.
