Went backstage at Toronto Alternative Arts & Fashion Week Day 3 to photograph Cristina and her collection, Romandin, on runway day. It was an amazing experience. I’m so proud of Cristina, and her collection was truly breathtaking! Check out all the photos here

Cristina’s collection, Romandin, is showing this Friday at Toronto Alternative Fashion Week! In the above photo, you’ll see her hand woven fabric just waiting to be made into a beautiful dress! Trust me, her collection is amazing! Go check her stuff out on Friday! Notice how every sentence in this post ends with an exclamation mark!

102/365 – Ya Man

Finally got to try Ackee Tree on Spadina with Koda when he visited from Waterloo this weekend. Those who know me know that I love Caribbean cuisine. Of course I had to try their jerk chicken. It was perfectly cooked and definitely was up to par with The Reef in Vancouver. I don’t eat chicken skin often, but one exception I make is jerk chicken.

101/365 – Konnichiwa

Saturday, April 17th, 2010

Got the chance to try this Japanese restaurant on Baldwin St. called Konnichiwa, recommended by Yen’s brother. I really loved the simple and clean flavours. My favourite was the grilled Arabesque Greenling pictured above.

100/365 – Bayview

Friday, April 16th, 2010

I reached my 100th photo! Bayview Station…up in North York beside Bayview Village. Also the station I reach to get to the North York YMCA where I play volleyball every Tuesday night. Did you know? Bayview Station is full of trompe l’oeil art. These optical illusions look like certain objects when viewed at certain angles. It’s pretty cool.

099/365 – Swiss

瑞士雞翼 – A Canto Restaurant classic. No…Swiss Chicken Wings are not actually related to Switzerland. I tried making them at home with the wings I got from the whole chickens the week before. Surprisingly, the look and taste of it was pretty accurate. I’m quite happy with the result.

098/365 – Paella

Thursday, April 15th, 2010

This unassuming Spanish Paella was ordered at Pickle Barrel. Man it was jam packed with ingrdients. Sausage, chicken, mussels and shrimp were all in there.

Yes, the title is meant to be satirical in a way. No need for more words. =)
