082/365 – BNL

Thursday, March 25th, 2010

Yep, I saw Barenaked Ladies live again, this time in a closer and more personal environment. They were playing at lunch on Tuesday at First Canadian Place. Lucky my lunch meeting got cancelled.

Set List:

  • Pinch Me
  • Another Heartbreak
  • You Run Away
  • Every Subway Car
  • Four Seconds
  • One Week

I also got their new album for $10 since they were signing autographs after the show!

I said to Ed Robertson, “literally grew up listening to you guys.” He replied, “Haha, yep, so did we.”

Check out the rest of the photos here.

Went to St. Lawrence Market with Farran and Rachel with the sole purpose of eating peameal bacon on a bun. We ended up walking around and got inspired by the fresh produce. So we purchased some items and went back to my place to cook. Pictured above is only a part of what we had: garlic baguette with baked brie, roasted garlic and roasted red peppers; steamed acorn squash topped with salt, pepper and cheese; fresh pasta with italian sausage tomato sauce.

078/365 – Swish

Monday, March 22nd, 2010

Got to try a new restaurant last week with Farran and Rachel. It’s callled “Swish by Han”. I think the best description is a Korean style tapas house. The food was awesome. You’ll often hear me say that I find Korean food uninspiring and always the same. Well this definitely changed my attitude. Apparently the restaurant is opened by a pair of brother’s with the last name Han. Highlights included the in-house cucumber infused soju, “kimchi”ed pears with stilton cheese and pork belly ssam. Check out the rest of our meal

077/365 – Union

Decided to start a side-project: capture the uniqueness of as the different TTC subway stops around Toronto. I don’t know how far I will take this, but I’d like to at least capture the stations I frequent. First up, Union Station. Located at the heart of the CBD in downtown Toronto, there is no doubt this is the busiest TTC station, with connections to Go trains, VIA rail and other transportation links. I often meet friends here when heading to the Distillery District or various nearby restaurants.

074/365 – Can’t Take My Eyes Off Of You

Friday, March 19th, 2010

Went on Wedenesday to see Jersey Boys at the Toronto Centre for the Arts. It was awesome! I loved the stories and I was suprised at the number of songs I recognized. Of course, the highlight was “Can’t Take My Eyes Off Of You.” Thoroughly entertaining!
