029/365 – Dinner Aftermath

Sunday, January 31st, 2010

Last night, a bunch of us went to Jack Astor’s for a sort of Guy’s Night dinner. At Jack Astor’s they have paper on the table that you can draw on. Just wanted to show a photo of the aftermath.

028/365 – Below Freezing

Sunday, January 31st, 2010

Toronto has seen the coldest weather this season over the past few days. It’s so cold that when you breathe on the glass at streetcar/bus shelters, it freezes…

027/365 – Yelled At

Thursday, January 28th, 2010

After I shot this photo, as I was getting on the train, the driver came on the PA system and said something to the effect of, “The gentleman with the camera, you’re not allowed to take photographs inside the TTC. Put the camera away now.” There wasn’t a please or thank you, and the tone was very rude.  Upon a little research with my friend Google, I found that TTC has a bylaw that prohibits photography inside the system for commercial purposes. If only I knew that, I would have found the driver and harassed him about it ._.

026/365 – Y

Wednesday, January 27th, 2010

I signed up for membership at the local YMCA at the beginning of the month. It’s been great, I’ve been going to the Y 5-6 times a week. It’s been mostly to go to the gym or play volleyball. I’ve been to the West End one (the closest to me), the Markham one, as well as the North York one. Have yet to go swimming with anyone but I think I’ve made the membership worth my money. It’s definitely keeping me quite active through the winter.

025/365 – Laundry Day

Tuesday, January 26th, 2010

The inevitable laundry day – further inconvenienced by the fact that I actually have to go to a laundromat  to wash my clothes. It’s the first time in my life I actually have to leave the building I’m living in to do laundry. I feel like I’m living in New York or something, like on ‘Friends’.

024/365 – A Cookie For…

Tuesday, January 26th, 2010

Ever since I bought my Kitchenaid stand mixer on Boxing Day, I’ve only used it for menial cooking tasks. So the other day, I decided to bake some good ol’ chocolate chip cookies. They turned out a little on the sweet side, even though I reduced the sugar. If you are reading this and you want a cookie (and you’ll see me in the next week or two), feel free to ask me to bring you one.

023/365 – Chillin’

Sunday, January 24th, 2010

In Waterloo, I got some time to just sit and chill with friends. I guess it’s nice to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city for a bit.

022/365 – Union

Sunday, January 24th, 2010

This weekend, I went to Waterloo to visit some friends. Justin was also leaving for Waterloo from Mississauga, so I hitched a ride with him. But to get to Mississauga, I had to first take the Go Train from Union Station after work. While I was idling in the station waiting for my train, I decided to pull out my camera and play around with the rush-hour scene around me.

021/365 – Revisited

Friday, January 22nd, 2010

Prior to yesterday, I’ve eaten at Wendy’s once in my life, and it was a bad experience. Last night, after our first volleyball league game, we went to eat at Wendy’s. The food was much better than the food I had at the Wendy’s in Waterloo. Most people know I’m not the biggest advocate of fast food, but for 30 minutes last night, I let go of all my healthy eating intuition and indulged in square patty goodness.

020/365 – Dinosaurs?

Friday, January 22nd, 2010

So if you’ve been reading this blog, you’ll know I take the streetcar literally everyday to and from everywhere I go downtown. I’ve noticed that at some streetcar stops, the streetcar icon on the pole is covered by a sticker of people riding a dinosaur. Even though this can probably be classified as “vandalism”, I still find it funny every time I see it. This particular photo was taken at the Dundas streetcar stop going east @ Bathurst, normally the stop where I go from home.
